Nothing Wasted, Everything Shared

A Business Surplus Donation Campaign by Manage Money Wales CIC and The Community Sharing Shop

Who We Are

Manage Money Wales CIC is a social enterprise based in Porth, Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Through our Community Sharing Shop, we help local families access free essentials, improve their financial wellbeing, and feel part of a supportive community.

We believe no one should struggle to afford what they need — and nothing usable should end up in landfill.

Our Mission

To reduce poverty, tackle social isolation, and protect the planet by turning surplus goods into affordable community resources.

Our Impact (April 2023 – September 2025)

  • 23,104 attendances to the Community Sharing Shop

  • 2,133 first-time visitors discovered affordable support

  • 731 families accessed our free food pantry

  • 69 volunteers contributing 5,948 volunteer hours

  • 61,384 kilograms (over 61 tonnes) of goods saved from landfill

  • 82% of visitors said the shop improved their mental wellbeing

  • 68% said it reduced loneliness and isolation

  • 91% said losing the shop would negatively affect the community

Every donated item helps us continue this impact sustainably.

Why We’re Asking for Your Donations

We’re inviting local and regional businesses to donate their unsold or surplus goods — clothing, household items, toiletries, small furniture, homeware, or similar.

These items are sold at a fraction of their retail price in our Community Sharing Shop to people on low incomes.
The income generated helps us cover running costs and rely less on grants, ensuring the project remains sustainable.

This isn’t about charity, it’s about partnership and shared purpose.

What Happens to Your Donations

  1. You contact us to donate your surplus or unsold items.

  2. We arrange collection or drop-off at your convenience.

  3. Our volunteers sort, clean, and prepare goods for sale in the shop.

  4. The items are sold affordably to families on low incomes.

  5. Every pound raised is reinvested into running the shop, supporting volunteers, and delivering community projects.
