Wales Against Scams Summit 2018

On Friday 28th September 2018, we attended the Wales Against Scams Summit 2018 held at Liberty Stadium in Swansea.

A diverse mixture of representatives from government agencies, businesses and the third sector were there. Some delegates were from Action Fraud, Age Cymru, Barclays Bank PLC, British Gas, Citizens Advice, City of London Police, Crimestoppers Trust, Government Agency Intelligence Network, Gwent Police, ICO, Lloyds Banking Group, Natwest, North Wales Police, National Trading Standards Scams Team, RCTCBC Trading Standards, Royal Mail, Shared Regulatory Services, South Wales Police, Swansea University, Tarian, UK Finance, Welsh Government and The Glamorgan Group.

We discussed the impact of scams and where to focus our efforts. As well as changing perceptions, raising awareness and working collaboratively to combat scams in Wales.

Manage Money Wales will be heavily involved in raising awareness and we look forward to delivering scam awareness sessions in local communities very soon.
